Ship Method
Setting up orders to come through with a ship service. The perquisite here is to set up the shipping services in your shopping cart (Shopify) first. This is a requirement because the order flow is Shopify à ShipStation à 3PL Central, and since the end-customer is placing the order within Shopify, that is presumably where they select what type of shipping they want for the order. So for the below, I am assuming that the shipping methods have been set up in Shopify as well- please let me know if you’d like me to provide instructions on how to do that as well.
I will describe the process of adding mappings in ShipStation using a Shopify-selected shipping method of “Standard Shipping”. So in this example, at checkout on the Shopify side, the customer is selecting the shipping method called “Standard Shipping”.
To set up the mappings in ShipStation, click on the Settings button in the top right corner of your ShipStation login. Expand the “Selling Channels” drop down and click the “Store Setup” button. For whichever store these orders are loading in from, press “Edit” underneath the column “Store Setup”:
Click the “Shipping Services” column. To add a new mapping, click “Add Service Mapping”. You should see the “Add a Service Mapping” box appear:
