InterFulfillment RateShop Overview
RateShop is an innovative feature designed to optimize your shipping process by providing automated, real-time carrier rate comparisons. It ensures your B2C orders are shipped in the most cost-effective way possible. By connecting to multiple carriers via API, RateShop retrieves and compares shipping rates for each order. Advanced rate shopping restrictions can also be set up to include or exclude specific service codes based on your preferences.
The best part? You still have the flexibility to specify a particular carrier or service for any individual order, even with RateShop enabled.
This is the true advantage of RateShop—maximum savings combined with the shipping flexibility you need.
Enabling RateShop for Your Orders
To enable the RateShop feature for your account, simply reach out to support@interfulfillment.com with your request.
Using RateShop for Manual Order Uploads Once it is Enabled
Once RateShop is enabled, you may be wondering how you can actually use it when uploading orders to the InterFulfillment system and how the system knows when to apply RateShop services to the order and when to ship with your exact shipping service choice.
The answer is simple. When you would like to ship via RateShop, add RATESHOP as the 'ShipCarrier' and 'ShipService' on the order.
Using RateShop for Pre-Wired Connections Once it is Enabled
If you are integrated via the REST api and would like to use the RateShop feature on certain shipping options all you need to do is send in a request to support@interfulfillment.com. Your account must have RateShop enabled.
It is important to specify which shipping method name you would like to set up RateShop for and the exact text string that will be transmitted to our system.
For this example, we will look at a request to set up RateShop on orders being transmitted from a Shopify store to our system with the text 'Standard Shipping to Canada' in the shipping field.
Our support team will set up a shipping method mapping which ensures that whenever an order enters our system with that specific string of text (Standard Shipping to Canada) we will process and ship the order using the RateShop feature.
