Overview
ShipStation is an eCommerce platform that connects with many shopping carts, consolidates orders in one place, and provides shipping labels for orders. InterFulfillment uses 3PL Central software to establish pre-wired connections with ShipStation. The connection pulls orders from ShipStation into the InterFulfillment system.
The connection between the InterFulfillment system and ShipStation allows for the following information to be synced:
- Transmission of orders from ShipStation to the InterFulfillment system
- Tracking numbers from InterFulfillment to orders in ShipStation
Setting Up the ShipStation Connection
To begin the setup configuration, you must first generate a set of ShipStation private app keys. The process of generating the app keys is detailed here: ShipStation API
Please contact ShipStation support should you require any assistance regarding any of the set-up or information retrieval within the ShipStation Portal.
IMPORTANT NOTE: If your orders require any type of regional or another type of filtering, make sure you set-up the ShipStation order 'tags' as needed and report the desired tags to us so we can customize your connection to only pull orders that you would like InterFulfillment to ship. If this is not done, all orders will be transmitted to our system and subsequently fulfilled as normal.
That is all there is to it! Once you have completed this, provide the full set of private ShipStation app keys (API KEY and API SECRET) to us and we will handle the rest.
FAQ
- Can the integration allow our team to modify and cancel our own orders? No, once an order has imported into our system, any changes made in Shipstation will not be sent through. For more information please read our order modification/cancelation article here.
- Can the integration export the item level fulfillment status? Our pre-wired integration does not allow for item level fulfillment. Typically this will only affect your account if you take advantage of our split-allocation feature. For more information on split-allocation click here.
- Can our WMS automatically split-allocate orders? No, this is a manual feature on our end and requires explicit instructions from the customer on a per order basis.
