1. Shopping Cart Integration via Extensiv Integration Manager
Overview
The Extensiv Integration Manager simplifies the process of creating, adding, or customizing an integration tailored to your business needs. The most popular shopping cart integrations for 2024 were Shopify, Amazon, and Walmart.
What is the Integration Manager and what does it do?
The Integration Manager is a web application pre-integrated with a wide range of popular e-commerce shopping carts. It enables InterFulfillment to seamlessly connect merchants' online order sources to our WMS for streamlined order fulfillment. The integration setup typically takes 2-3 business days.
Workflow
There are three key steps in the communication process for cart integrations:
Order Download: The Integration Manager downloads orders from each connected shopping cart. The download schedule is flexible and can be set as frequently as every 5 minutes or as infrequently as once per day (per cart).
Order Delivery to WMS: The Integration Manager then delivers your orders to our Warehouse Management System (WMS). This delivery schedule can also be customized, ranging from every 5 minutes to once per day (per cart).
Shipment Confirmation: The Integration Manager uploads shipment confirmations (including tracking numbers) back to your shopping carts. Shipment confirmation schedules can be set at various intervals to meet your business needs.
Inventory Upload: The Integration Manager uploads inventory levels back to your shopping carts at various intervals to meet your business needs.
2. Custom Integrations Via Extensiv REST API
For customers who have custom integration needs that are not covered by our Integration Manager platform we recommend leveraging our open REST API. Our public API, is an application programming interface accessible to your software developers through this LINK. The time required to complete a custom connection via REST API depends on your developer's experience level. Typically, these integrations are completed within 1 to 3 months.
InterFulfillment will provide access credentials and a sandbox environment for testing purposes. During the testing phase, you will be assigned an integration coordinator who will assist with workflow testing and facilitate calls with our engineers for any specific questions.
Additionally, we have an active developer community available at https://community.extensiv.com. Any troubleshooting questions should be posted on this community forum, where responses are visible to other developers who may have similar queries.
Key Functions:
REST API Permissions
- CustomerView: Allows for retrieval of customer details
- FacilityView: Allows for retrieval of warehouse details
- InventoryDetailView: Allows for retrieval of inventory details
- ItemView: Allows for retrieval of item details
- OrderView: Allows for retrieval of order details
- ReceiverView: Allows for retrieval of receipt details
- OrderImport: Allows for importing of orders
- Inventory read: Allows to pull inventory levels

3. EDI Integrations
Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) is a system-to-system exchange of business documents in a standardized electronic format between business partners. Common EDI providers include SPS Commerce, True Commerce, and CommerceHub. Once configured, InterFulfillment via the Extensiv Warehouse Manager can seamlessly populate orders and receipts into the portal via the API, while also managing order acknowledgments. Additionally, we can push back the Advance Shipping Notice (ASN), update inventory, and generate invoices within the EDI portal.
The time required to complete an EDI connection varies based on the number of retailers involved and the specific custom documents needed. Typically, these integrations are completed within 3 to 6 months.
